Accidents are unforeseen, and it could happen to anyone irrespective of the person being at fault or not. FISO TAKAFUL motor insurance cover protects individuals from such unforeseen losses and ensures that they have peace of mind whilst driving on the roads of Somalia. Regulations require vehicle owners to take Third party insurance coverage. The Company provides two types of Motor Insurance products in Somalia.

Comprehensive Motor Insurance

What is covered:

This is the most comprehensive insurance, covering Loss or Damage to the Motor Vehicle and its accessories/spare parts by:

• Accidental collision or overturning
• Fire, external explosion, self-ignition or lightening, burglary and theft
• Flood, Storm and Tempest
• Malicious act
• Whilst in transit by road, etc.
• Liability to Third Party including death or bodily injury and damaged to property

Third Party Motor Insurance

What is covered:

This is the basic cover which is mandated by law. The policy covers Liability to Third Party both property and bodily injury. It does not cover loss or damage to insured’s own vehicle or property or any injuries or death to the insured or family members or employees or servants.

Usual duration of the policy is 12 months.
